NSCRO has officially awarded the hosting rights for its Fall men’s playoffs (see below). The selection process for the Spring playoff and National Championship events is underway.
NSCRO began a bidding process in July and concluded the process in late August. The process was managed by Matt Robinette, NSCRO Director of Events. Each of these hosts completed comprehensive bids that benefit both parties and offer world-class facilities for these high-profile events. NSCRO congratulates these organizations on winning the bid to host these events and we look forward to working with them through the planning process. NSCRO and our host partners are committed to delivering value to our members through well-run, professionally produced championship events.
Steve Cohen, NSCRO President, said “The NSCRO bid process is detailed and thorough. Communication is critical and understanding expectations paramount,” when asked what the bid process is meant to achieve. Cohen explained the importance of producing professional events at quality venues as a benefit to the members of NSCRO as well as to the host community.
“We’re all very excited that the bid process has concluded with the selection of four outstanding venues, and the event planning can begin,” said Cohen. Zach Franklin, Sports Sales Manager, City of Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau remarked that "NSCRO events will impact Columbia in many different ways. From an economic impact perspective, sports tourism has helped us assist some of our venue holders in finding ways to generate alternative sources of revenues in the form of venue rental all while generating tax dollars from the visiting participants, and their families. We also believe this event will drive the city's vision to make Columbia the best place for everyone to live, work, learn and play.”
“Sports tourism means a great deal to our community. Being home to Mizzou athletics brands Columbia as a ‘sports town’ We want to embrace this and show our citizens that there are a plethora of events out there to enjoy in their own backyard. This event also allows us to further our partnership with the Columbia Rugby Football Club. They are a crucial stakeholder in us winning these bids, and we would not be able to run the quality of events that we do without them.”
Franklin continued, “We are thrilled to host the 2019 NSCRO Central Region and Challenge Cup Championships and welcome the participating teams this November!"
Representatives from the other venues have also echoed their enthusiasm to host NSCRO’s flagship events again this year:
