NSCRO's "Heart & Soul" Recipients at 2015 National Championship


To foster the growth and development of small college rugby, its clubs, players and coaches at the Home of Small College Rugby in America.


To accomplish its mission, NSCRO shall:

  • Provide a responsive organization that meets the on and off-field needs of new and existing rugby clubs and their governing bodies through:

Guidance for the formation of new clubs

Support of the management of existing clubs and their governing bodies

Partnerships with companies that provide benefits of value, such as Penn Mutual, Rhino Rugby, Impact Protection, GoPlay Tours, etc.

Opportunities with companies providing coach and player development programs

Establishment of Select Side programs

Coordination with USA Rugby’s High Performance Department, provide a pathway for players on NSCRO clubs for recognition and selection to National Teams, including the College All Americans

  • Organize top-level competitions leading to small college national championships and recognize team and player accomplishments through:

Selection of first class facilities for championship events

Broadcast production of national championships with live web streaming

Tackle of the Year competition

Player of the Month recognition awards

Team Trophies

Player Awards for MVP, All-Championship Team selection and Heart & Soul selection

Press releases to national rugby media and use of NSCRO social media and website

  • Promote club and individual player contributions to charitable projects both on-campus and in the community with:
    Publicity through national rugby media outlets, NSCRO website and social media outlets, etc.
  • Encourage the development of leaders with:
    Leadership Development Program
    Student-Leader of the Month recognition award
